BRING THE CROWN HOME

This is a project dedicated to path of knowledge, wisdom and understanding in a crazy world. Many themes are touched upon in this project. MAKANGANI talks about race issues, mental health, sociopolitical views, activism, identity and so much more ... always looking through his own camera lens to give a very poetic perspective on life from his individual angle.

This album is also an attempt at a conversation with artists and beat makers who disregard the roots of African and African American music, totally ready to unconsciously abuse the art by sampling our fore-mothers and forefathers with not even a pinch of remembrance or respect and yet call it 'real hiphop'.

I am an activist and an artist, not a purist, don't get it twisted - i am also just human and not perfect or speaking down on anybody from above. I simply LOVE art, HIPHOP and conscious expression and I would love to connect with those ready to talk and heal.
